World Dracula Day

It’s World Dracula Day! First published on this date in 1897, Bram Stoker’s classic novel (and the seemingly countless adaptations it’s inspired) continues to fascinate and terrify those who choose to sink their teeth into this classic vampire tale. Do you have a favorite version?

Towel Day

Today on Towel Day let us remember the words of Douglas Adams: “If you want to survive out here, you’ve got to know where your towel is . . . A towel… is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have … any man who can hitch the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.”

Title Track Day

National Title Track Day – the day to share your favorite album title tracks. Some of mine include American Idiot (Green Day), Lover (Taylor Swift), and Drunken Lullabies (Flogging Molly) – but my absolute favorite is Welcome to the Black Parade (and yes it’s a title track)

Lucky Penny Day

See a penny, pick it up, and all day you’ll have good luck – maybe doubly so on Lucky Penny Day! Whether found heads-up on the ground, taken from the penny dish at the cash register, or kept in your loafers for good luck, remember that even the smallest things can brighten your day – like squished pennies!

World Goth Day

World Goth Day – whether you’re drawn to the fashion, the music, or the ethos, celebrate today by embracing the dark, the mysterious, and the unique and honoring the beauty found in the shadows. Darken your clothes (or strike a violent pose) and revel in macabre elegance.

International Tea Day

International Tea Day! Enjoyed hot or cold, sweetened or unsweetened, with sugar or lemon or milk – any way you pour it is fine so long as you don’t spill the tea (unless the situation calls for it, of course). How do you take your tea?
