Bamboo Day

Bamboo Day: the fastest-growing plant (growing up to 3 ft per day) is stronger than steel, eco-friendly, and used for food, furniture, and clothes. Absorbing more carbon dioxide & releasing more oxygen than trees, it grows in a variety of climates & regenerates quickly after being cut! If you venture into the bamboo forests, beware of pandas, who eats shoots and leaves . . .

National Voter Registration Day

Voter Registration Day – no matter where you live in the US, there’s time to ensure you can vote by Election Day (Nov. 5). Take some time to check your voter registration status and, if you’re not active, submit your registration.

While you’re checking your registration, also check to see what (if any) type of day-of ID you may need to bring. For example, my state now requires an unexpired photo ID . . .

And then be sure to vote!

Collect Rocks

It’s collect rocks day. Who among us has never collected a cool rock or stone we found on a hike, at the lake, in a field? I had stones and rock tumblers and now my collection is reduced to a few meaningful ones related to locations and some crystals. How about you – do you resonate?

Double Cheeseburger Day

It’s double cheeseburger day, so I made seasoned double cheeseburgers with cheddar cheese infused with mustard seed and ale.

Casserole

I am at a party and immediately made friends with the cat, whose name is Casserole

Defy Superstition

It’s Defy Superstition Day: Walk under a ladder and break a mirror while whistling in a graveyard as a black cat crosses your path. Open an umbrella, knock over some salt (don’t throw it over your shoulder), and scream “MACBETH” at the top of your lungs in your local theater. Go ahead; tempt fate!
