Anything is better than a life standing still. ~ Margaret Stohl
A native of northeast Pennsylvania, I reside in eastern North Carolina. After a long day teaching social studies, I relax in running, reading, and music. Like many runners, I often find myself alone with my thoughts. It is during these runs that I find inspiration.

You had me at “all things German” and crushed my spirits with “Bayern-München”. VFB Stuttgart or Dormund, even Hamburg or Bremen…but Bayern? That’s ok, I’ll keep reading anyway. 🙂 I hear the Berlin Marathon is a party!

I just added the Berlin Marathon to my bucket list!

Running always really clears the mind for inspired thoughts and ideas..Good for you that you take advantage of that time in that manner..I wish I had done the same during some of my long runs in the past…

I can vouch for White Sands, London, Half Dome, Mt. Rushmore, one side of Niagara and the Golden Gate as great places to visit but have not scaled, run or swum them. What a great idea to have a written bucket list. I think about it but don’t write it down. Now’s the time! Good luck with your endeavors.

Nice to meet you out here in Blogland! I’m actually debating doing the OBX marathon this year, I have family outside of Chesapeake. We’ll see!
“Run away! Run away!”
Look forward to following your work,

It’s about a 3 hr drive for me, so right on my backyard as far as marathons go. Best of luck to you, wherever you go!

Since we’ve run across each other’s blogs during Writing 101 I’ve enjoyed many of your writings. I dropped by to let you know I have nominated you for the Most Influential Blogger Award, and I see I’m not the only one to have done this. 🙂 The details are show at the link below. Even if you are not one for accepting awards, I’ve still nominated you as a show of appreciation.
Respectfully,

Thanks for your recent comments on my blog! I love your blog theme, it’s really pretty. I’ll have to keep exploring, but before I do, I wanted to ask — St. Helena? Which one? I’m curious.
Also, you just happened to catch me on the first day I’m
planning ongoing running in months. I’ll take it as a good sign 🙂LikeLiked by 2 people
Sorry I’ve been so long in replying!

Nice to “see” a fellow North Carolinian! I’ve enjoyed your posts since I found you on Heather’s (bitsnbooks) blog. Looks like we’ve got a lot of common interests, except the running. I wish I liked it. Tried to many times…just can’t.

Make sure when you do “drive to Key West” you plan to stay a little while. You will lose track of time and never want to go back home again.

Ohhh, now I’m curious. Where in Eastern NC? I lived in Greenville for a year and have some family in Washington still. You don’t have to tell me if it makes you uncomfortable haha. I live a safe distance away near Raleigh 😉

Best About of the day for me. I feel I learned a big bunch about you…in a getting acquainted kind of way that is. I’m fascinated with your running, and wonder if you get to meditate whilst doing it You’ll love Mt. Rushmore, as I’m sure you’ll enjoy doing most if not all the things on your bucket list. Life is to be enjoyed. I don’t believe we can enjoy it, if we don’t take the time to plan. Highest and Best!

You are far too fit and healthy. All that running can’t be good for you……and on your bucket list, you want to do more? Crazy guy! I like your things to do list. But why do you want to see a heap of old stones that is a very old dead king’s grave, in Hastings? Go to visit Brighton nearby, instead. Much more fun…..

I want to see his grave because he is a distant cousin. In fact, one of my ancestors crowned William the Conqueror; my family is mentioned three times in the Domesday Book. So, family history.

Oh, I feel awful now. Sorry to have disrespected some of our British Royal family! I must learn not to be so flippant, it always gets me into trouble…..

Ha! I didn’t take it that way at all. 🙂

Fun to stumble upon your blog and get to know you! I am with you on the authors and travel. I use to run but just have not made it back yet. Cheers from Portland, Oregon!

Always fabulous to stumble across a fellow running writer, nice to know there are kindred spirits out there. It is fascinating to know you are a distant relative of Harold Godwinson. Children here learn all about the last Saxon king, Henry and William the Conqueror from an early age. I plan to take my children to King Harold’s grave when we are next in Hastings, in fact, I am running the Brighton Marathon in April 17 so I imagine we will limp around to it then!
