T’was the Day Before Thanksgiving

First day of Thanksgiving break. I slept in an additional 2.5 hours. Now I just turned on the oven the preheat because I’m baking pies today while catching up on some podcasts. Fingers crossed the dough cooperates.

Morning Coffee

My dear friend – it’s been so long since we last saw each other! Let’s chat over a hot cup of coffee. Continue reading “Morning Coffee”

For the Love Of Pie

Saturday I told you about the pies I made to help raise money for our school. This morning, I heard from several students, and apparently my pie has caused a certain degree of discord. Continue reading “For the Love Of Pie”

Saturday Morning Coffee

I know it’s almost midday, but my brain is just starting to function. Thanks for coming by! I’ve made the coffee extra strong this morning.  Continue reading “Saturday Morning Coffee”

Saturday Morning Coffee: Treason & Baking & Things Going *SNICK* in the Night

I’m so glad you stopped by for a chat! Despite the continually rising temperature, I’m still making coffee – and Krystal calls me crazy for it. Of course I’m crazy for coffee – I’m addicted! “No,” she replies, “I mean your crazy for even thinking of the stuff in this weather.” Of course, if you’d rather tea or juice I can do that, too.  Continue reading “Saturday Morning Coffee: Treason & Baking & Things Going *SNICK* in the Night”

A Taste of Autumn

The prompt for this week is Taste, so where else would I go for inspiration but to my coveted apple pie? Continue reading “A Taste of Autumn”

Sunday Snapshots

What did I do this week?

Well . . .

I helped Krystal participate in the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the Word has Ever Seen by

showing her idea of love

using cat tails as mustaches

no cats were harmed in the creation of this project

creating a portrait of Robert Downey, Jr. / Ironman out of salt & pepper

holding Death’s funeral

writing a short story with the letters of elemental abbreviations as found on the Periodic Table

taping an End of the World message

proving no man is an island

recreating a Roadrunner cartoon

in the style of a Sam Shepherd play

in the style of Michael Bay

throwing a conspiracy theorist party

making a trailer for a horror flick called X is for Xylophone

designing furniture from recycled materials found outside

playing croquet on the lawn of an historic site

while dressed as zombies

recreating a national landmark with the food in our pantry

There might have been a few things I missed.

However, since these actions were part of competition, I can’t show you any pictures . . . yet.

So, what can I show you?

My package arrived from Germany:

Er Ist Wieder Da Package

I made two more apple pies:

I just couldn’t let my leftover apples from the last ones go to waste, you know?

My submission for Three Line Thursday earned an Honorable Mention:

My plans changed for Saturday and I didn’t get Little Caesar’s pizza nor did I get a milkshake. But we did order pizza Friday night and – look! – there’s Wal-Mart brand Ginger Ale just like I claimed:
