Renovation: Grail Edition

1. Useless knowledge isn’t always useless.

Students constantly ask “When will I ever use this in real life?”   While the vast majority of knowledge will sit idle unless you’re a teacher or Jeopardy! contestant, there are those rare times when completely useless facts will save your life. Therefore, it is important to know answers for the following questions:

1. What is your name?*

2. What is your quest?*

3. What is your favorite color?**

4. What is the capital of Assyria? ***

5. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? ****

Monty Python and the Holy Grail Knights of the Round Table
4 out of 6 Knights are unprepared for the Bridge of Death.
Don’t Be A Statistic!

I’m sure there are more lessons to be learned from a film of such depth, but – like any good historian – I want you to discover them for yourself. So take an hour or so and go on an adventure with John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, and the rest of the Flying Circus. Even if you don’t learn anything new, it will be time well spent. I guarantee it. *****

*Answers May Vary

**Know the difference between blue and yellow.

***Which capital do you want? Assyria’s first capital was Aššur, while its most famous capital was Nineveh. However, there was also a religious capital located at Caleh.

****African or European? The airspeed velocity of an unladen European Swallow is roughly 11 meters per second, or 24 miles per hour. Studies on the African Swallow are ongoing.

*****Guarantee is not legally or personally binding in any way. If unsatisfied, please consult Rule 30 (1).
