It’s a Sunday Morning day of the week, and that can only mean one thing: last night two weeks a few weeks ago on a Saturday, I made and ate a hamburger. Specifically, a burger featured on the hit series Bob’s Burgers.
The One Horse Open Slaw Burger [S3:E9 “God Rest Ye Merry Gentle-Mannequins”]
About the Episode – Bob’s rich uncle dies, leaving him a storage unit. What they find inside is a Chet: a squatter with a talent for window displays. Ignoring his eccentric claims that he is a mannequin turned man, the family lets him stay in the basement. But when Bob insults him, Chet has the ability to ruin Christmas for both the Belchers . . . unless they can find the love of his life: the two left hands mannequin(ess) Nadine.
About the Burger– This burger sounded delicious: a Worcestershire-mixed burger topped with coleslaw and served on an onion bun. Problem: Krystal can’t have coleslaw due to the amounts of vinegar in most recipes. Thankfully, the recipe called for making the mayonnaise at home, so I simply substituted the vinegar for equal parts fresh-squeezed lemon juice and pomegranate molasses. So, I guess I learned three recipes today.
The mayo took a while to make, but it was so very worth the effort to see Krystal enjoy her first taste of guilt-free, headache-free may in months.
The Response
This was a delicious burger made all the more special with that slaw and mayo. Krystal’s asked me to make some up for her regular use!
Suffice it to say we gave this burger
5 Stars
Come back next week, when we’ll try a new, as-yet-to-be-determined burger!

Now THAT is a burger I would want once a week!

I’m starving (OK, I’m a little hungry because we are eating dinner after my kid’s baseball practice tonight), and after reading/drooling over your post, I just don’t think pizza is gonna cut it tonight. Yum! I need a burger.

Indeed, sometimes only a burger will do!
