National Voter Registration Day

Voter Registration Day – no matter where you live in the US, there’s time to ensure you can vote by Election Day (Nov. 5). Take some time to check your voter registration status and, if you’re not active, submit your registration.

While you’re checking your registration, also check to see what (if any) type of day-of ID you may need to bring. For example, my state now requires an unexpired photo ID . . .

And then be sure to vote!

  1. A great way to verify your voter registration status is to go and vote.

Go to the poll to vote for city council, state rep or senator.

Go vote in the primaries, even for state elections.

It’s better to get turned away or cast a provisional ballot at a primary for state rep and not for US President!

In Massachusetts they do a census every 2 years, I believe. If you fail to reply, you may be dis-enrolled.

This happened to me when I first moved to Mass and rented a house with two other guys. Who was going to return a census document? At the next election I was turned away.

    1. This is an an option if your state has enough time from when early voting begins and Election Day, but some states (like mine) are trying very hard to make it almost impossible to vote with same day registration on Election Day. Why take the chance when you can know ahead of time and take steps to fix it?
