Spice Blend Day! Pumpkin spice has returned (I await Cauldron-Aged Pumpkin Death Wish Coffee), but I’m also thinking about my tweaked & perfected apple pie spice as well as a particular blend that’s found its way onto salmon & chicken and into tacos, hamburgers, & baked beans. It’s Welsh Rarebit Day! Despite some pronunciations, there’s no rabbit in this dish – instead, it’s toast covered in a rich, savory beer cheese sauce (with various seasonings), making it a cheesy comfort food that deserves the same popularity as avocado toast. Now to see if I can make it . . .

Labor Day 2024

It’s Labor Day and I have the day off. Twelfth Night has wrapped and the stage struck, and afterwards the cast partied into the very early morning hours. I’ve had coffee cand apple pie and some toast as the post-show recovery begins. I’m starting to watch fall-themed shows while doing some light housework that has piled up over the last three weeks thanks to rehearsals and shows. Maybe tomorrow I’ll be able to do some writing and catch you all up on what’s been going on?
