Press Play

It’s Sunday afternoon and I’ve made tuna sandwiches (with pretzels and ginger ale), I’m wrapped in a comfy blanket, and I’m watching The Core – and later on there’ll be World of Darkness!

I should probably let you know that my blog posts might be even more sparse than usual over the next few weeks. With The Laramie Project opening at the end of the month, my schedule will be work-rehearsal-sleep-repeat for the next while. Maybe I’ll find time to play D&D in there. Maybe.

This week we did manage to play D&D, and while I haven’t had time to write up the notes, I can tell you Leaf survived the predicament in which he’d found himself at the end of the previous session. We won’t pick up that campaign again until January because now that we’re in the “ber” months it’s time for our annual Spooky Season story – whatever that may be. It’ll be a Spooky Surprise!!

Speaking of playing things, the local theaters are announcing their 2026 runs. So far, there’s a lot of musicals and maybe one show I might audition for, but even if I don’t get a part I’ll definitely be seeing a few of the shows next year. Some of them will be pretty cool.

Our apartment complex did work on our AC unit this week, moving it from a position on top of our storage shed to the ground level. The air was off for about seven hours and the inside temperature went up about seven or eight degrees and when the AC came back on it wool about two hours to bring it back down. I’m very grateful for the workers who do that in the heat, often with impatient folks telling them to work faster. I’d rather they take their time to be safe and do it right, you know?

From a post I made previously, I had several people tell me I should get two tattoos for my birthday, but I don’t know if I’ll have the finances to do more than one. But I thought that I’d put my information out there just for fun and so far two folks have contributed a combined total of $45 towards by birthday tattoo fund. If you want to do the same, I can be found on Venmo @ EntLarchJay. And if you don’t want to do the same, at least come back in late December and give the hopefully new ink some love.

And that about covers it for me; what about you? What have you been up to?
