Blogging and running have more in common than you might think.
Runners have a love-hate relationship with our shoes.
When we find that just right pair, it’s a match made in heaven.
We use them.
We abuse them.
And, after so many miles, we face the inevitable:
we need to replace them.
I don’t remember when I first started using Suburbia as my blog’s theme, but I loved it.
I loved the little pictures and the excerpts.
I loved the custom background and the word cloud logo I designed.
I loved the widgets.
It was the perfect pair of shoes.
And yet, it started to show it’s age.
The widgets became cluttered.
The background looked dated.
The pictures and excerpts turned confusing.
It just wasn’t working any more.
So this morning, I went shopping.
I browsed the shelves and tried some new shoes on.
I walked in some, ran in others, and finally found a fit:
Baskerville.
Now comes the fun part: breaking it in.
Fixing the menus and widgets.
Adjusting the widgets.
Discovering new features.
No buyer’s remorse here!
You are right – blog themes are so much like jogging shoes. Excellent choice. (Hope the transition goes smoothly – so it doesn’t eat up all your time to blog!)

I’ve got the next few days scheduled already. The real test will be to keep up with reading everyone else’s posts!

Someday I hope to make a change. For now I’m tidying up my categories. Baby steps.

I need to tackle my categories, too.
Maybe someday.

What a lovely comparison ! 🙂 And so true even 😉
I think I liked the other theme better but this one is just fine, too.
