Like a cloverleaf interchange when viewed from above, the Wheel of Time has turned to Teaser Tuesday.
Just in case you don’t know, Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! All you have to do is grab the book you’re currently reading, open to a random page and share a few sentences from that page. But make sure you don’t share any spoilers!*
*I wish I could take credit for this introduction, but I shamelessly stole it from Heather over at bitsnbooks. To help me make amends, you should go check out her blog.
This week, my current read is When Hitler Took Cocaine and Lenin Lost His Brain: History’s Unknown Chapters by Giles Milton. I saw this on the New Nonfiction display at the library, thought it looked interesting, and checked it out.
The Truly Random Number Generator sends us to page 136:
'If science permits, Lenin's body must be preserved'. This posed a real problem. There were many known techniques for embalming a body in the manner of the ancient Egyptians but none that could be guaranteed to preserve Lenin's liekness.
Hopefully this book is captivating and avoids the more common “known unknowns” of history.
In Retrospect: Watchmen
Heroes, anti-heroes, villains, and conspiracies abound in this classic graphic novel.
While I figured out the actual villain early on, I did not see the real twist ending at all.
My word, that ending.

The title is enough of a teaser!

The title was what caught my eye in the first place!

This is the sort of nonfiction I enjoy – weird facts and trivia. My teaser this week comes from the first book in an urban fantasy series I recently discovered – Kindling the Moon by Jenn Bennett. Happy reading!

I enjoy nonfiction and fiction alike; this year, though, it appears fiction is winning out.

Sounds like a fascinating book — maybe one to read in short spurts.

One of the reviews I read called it a good “bathroom book.”
