What do you mean, I have extra time?
I’m a teacher; extra time doesn’t come out of thin air!
My seniors are on their senior trip this week, so I have an extra period from now to next Friday.
As luck would have it, it’s also my first period class.
Huzzah!
What will I do with this extra time?

Prepare for exams – only one month away!
Make sure everything’s set for my seniors competing at state competition for National History Day.
If time allows:
Read – Jacques Barzun’s From Dawn to Decadence: 1500 to the Present- 500 Years of Western Cultural Life is my at-work reading.
Write, or at least develop ideas for blog posts.
