Like the blades of a lawnmower cutting those upstart grasses down to size, the Wheel of Time has turned ’round to Teaser Tuesday.
Just in case you don’t know, Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish theme, and anyone can play along! All you have to do is grab the book you’re currently reading, open to a random page and share a few sentences from that page. But make sure you don’t share any spoilers!*
*I wish I could take credit for this introduction, but I shamelessly stole it from Heather @ bitsnbooks. To help me make amends, you should go check out her blog.
I’m starting to make up the deficit on my Goodreads’ challenge, partly by picking “easier” books. By this I mean I’m skipping the philosophy/history and reading more “pulp” instead. That’s not to say pulp is bad; I’m a huge fan of extra-pulp orange juice myself. I think you get the idea.
My current book is a Doctor Who adventure, The Drosten’s Curse by A.L. Kennedy. And, true to the lore of the library regarding author’s initials, A.L. Kennedy is a woman. I just found that interesting; it has no bearing on the book. Anyway, I’m getting sidetracked.
The Goodreads’ Blurb
Something distinctly odd is going on in Arbroath. It could be to do with golfers being dragged down into the bunkers at the Fetch Brothers’ Golf Spa Hotel, never to be seen again. It might be related to the strange twin grandchildren of the equally strange Mrs Fetch–owner of the hotel and fascinated with octopuses. It could be the fact that people in the surrounding area suddenly know what others are thinking, without anyone saying a word.
The Truly Random Number Generator sends us to page ??? (I forgot to look at the page number, lol)
I shall make you the jewel at the heart of the universe.
