I’m prepping for the next series of Core Curriculum.

After covering Iliad and The Republic, we’re heading to Sappho.

Yesterday I spent an hour or so reading Sappho for the first time and I’m struck by two thoughts.

1. Why did I wait so long?
2. If this is the beauty of her fragments, her complete work would set the world aflame.
