World Bee Day

What’s all the buzz about? Why, it’s World Bee Day! This day was established to “raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development, with the goal [of strengthening] measures aimed at protecting bees and other pollinators.”

  1. even though I am allergic to their sting, I have a small hive in my backyard. Once a year I can harvest some honey and my little buddies get the rest to carry them through the winter. Heck, I even talk to them.

  2. Bees are at risk – and so few doing anything about it. Plant flowers!!! (We have some bee hives kept on rooftops of downtown medical complexes/ skyscrapers – the keepers say the bees are thrilled to have a home close to the big mansions and trendy bungalows with all the fancy landscaping surrounding the area. An experiment that worked. )
