Non-Update Update 4/4

Today’s the last performance for The Laramie Project – I’ve hydrated and caffeinated and I’m cleaning before call time so I can truly rest when all this is over, but I’ve got some time to chat with you.

  • Work went well this week. Taking Monday morning off was the right choice!
  • I booked my birthday tattoo for December – yay for me!
  • I had a panic attack on Thursday, probably triggered by gestures at everything and thanks to blanket forts and dark rooms and talking to friends I was able to recenter after about ten hours or so.
  • We started our Magnus Archives horror game – no wikia for this game, but I’m still keeping notes in my own digital document. in our first session we made it through a truly horrific experience: corporate orientation and new employee icebreakers – hahaha.
  • Taylor Swift released Life of a Showgirl and I think it fair to say this album is just not for me. It’s not bad, just not my favorite (or even in the top five). That said there are three songs on the album I quite enjoy:
    • Cancelled
    • Eldest Daughter
    • Opalite
    • Father Figure (honorable mention)
  • After Friday’s show we went out as a cast to spend some time outside the theatre together. It was fun, but also a reminder that I enjoy my bedtime, lol
  • I wish I could remember all the kind things we’ve heard about the show. I’ve had friends and strangers collapsing on my shoulder in tears after the show, embracing the entire cast with hugs, and saying things that warmed my heart and soul to hear we are having an effect on our community.
  • While out shopping this week I found a nice Halloween tablecloth and spooky chicken nuggets, which are totally worth the extra 50¢ compared to the non-spooky nuggets. I also almost had a 1936 Little Orphan Annie decoder pin, but the shop that had it doesn’t do holds (which, fair) and I was two people too late. Ah well.

And so in closing I’ll leave you with the song I’ve been listening to on repeat throughout this run to keep myself grounded and not take certain emotions home with me – or at least, not for too long:

How are you doing?

What have you been up to?
