Happy Sunday, my friends. I know it’s a lot later than usual, but you know how some days just get away from you and before you know it the sun is going down? Yeah, it’s been that kind of a day – but now let’s settle in and pour a drink and have a chat.
On Monday I fulfilled my promise to have my posters framed, swinging by the hobby store on the way home from work and picking up some front-loading frames, carefully putting the posters inside (have I broken a frame before trying to get the glass out? Yes. Yes I have.) and then finding strategic spots for them around the house. Krystal approved of my selections when she got back from her aerial class.

Also on Monday I got a package from my nephew. He sent me a text on Sunday letting me know a Mystery Package was on the way and to be on the lookout for it, and when it arrived and I opened the padded mailer I found . . . a Pusheen-a-Day calendar!

It seems that on Monday I also made BLTs for supper.

On Tuesday I wore more orange, and on Wednesday I got a temporary tattoo at a mental health fair – it says “be yourself” if you’re having as hard a time reading it as I did – – and I’m the one who picked it out!

Also on Wednesday I made Spooky Nuggets, which are nuggets shaped like ghosts and bats and pumpkins, and were 100% worth the extra fifty cents compared the the Dino Nuggets I usually get.

Friday was the seven-year anniversary of John Scalzi complimenting my apple pie, and while I have fun remembering that day, he also has kind things to say when I share it on social media – and this year was no exception.

On Saturday I made spicy chicken sandwiches, in part by marinating chicken in a mixture that included a honey infused with Carolina Reaper, Ghost Pepper, and Naga Viper peppers. I forgot to take a picture of the sandwiches but here’s a picture of the honey – and did you know you can by Zax’s Sauce at the grocery store? I didn’t, but we sure have some now.

I’ve spent the last couple days getting caught up on my journaling, which I set as a resolution either this year or last year to finally use the “good china” as they say and actually use notebooks that I bought, and I think I’ll finish my first notebook soon, perhaps by the new year or just after!
We went thrifting today, hence why this post is a little late, and while I don’t have anything to show you at this exact moment, we still had a good time. When we got back I got a pot of baked beans into the slow cooker to cook overnight. This was always the plan: let them cook tonight and then set up in the fridge tomorrow and then they’ll be super tasty reheated for suppers the next few nights.

Oh wait! I almost forgot that I went to a thrift shop on my way home from work Friday and got a book and a DVD!

Well, I think that about does it for me, but what about you? What have you been up to?
