Saturday Morning Ginger Ale

So apparently I’ve missed a few Saturday coffees. I wish I had some amazing tale to tell, like I won an amazing holiday, but the long and short of it is: I got sick.

The flu has rampaged through our school, and last week we shut down it got so bad.

I thought I was safe, but no luck. I ran a 5k on Saturday, came home, and crashed. I spent the next 48 hours drinking NyQuil and trying to keep hydrated. On the plus side, I didn’t even notice the time change.

I finally kicked it early this week, only to have the sinus bug hit. After teaching all day, it felt like I was trying to swallow a melon. So, I just haven’t felt up to writing anything.

Something interesting did happen last week when Krystal ordered some TV series on DVD in her sleep. But I suppose that’s her story.

Ain’t No Rest

President’s Day means a day off school, but I’m not exactly sleeping in. After a mostly restless night, Smokey woke me from my uneasy sleep after allowing me thirty “extra” minutes of sleep. I think it’s payback for making him wear that shark costume back in October.

So, I’ve been up since 6, cruising the internet and avoiding making the slides I’ll need for class this week. But, I’ve procrastinated long enough. The coffee’s made, the podcasts queued, and the books opened. Let’s be profitable.

But you can also bet I’ll be reading and playing video games this afternoon.
