Teaser Tuesday: Pandemic

Like the start of another school year, the Wheel of Time has turned ’round to Teaser Tuesday.

Just in case you don’t know, Teaser Tuesday is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by Books and a Beat. Anyone can play along! All you have to do is grab the book you’re currently reading, open to a random page and share a few sentences from that page. But make sure you don’t share any spoilers!*

*I wish I could take credit for this introduction, but I shamelessly stole it from Heather over at bitsnbooks. To help me make amends, you should go check out her blog.

This week I’m reading Pandemic: Tracking Contagions, from Cholera to Ebola and Beyond by Sonia Shah. I found this book at the library after a rough day and liked the title, the cover, and the concept.

The Truly Random Number Generator sends us to page 133.

The bloodbath did little to quell H1N1's spread. It did, however, destroy the livelihood of the pigs' owners, the trash collectors called zabaleen of Egypt's embattled Christian minority.

In Retrospect

Maybe I shouldn’t have borrowed a book from the library without finishing the books I’m already reading.

hahahaha

Sometimes I crack myself up!

What are you reading today?
