Once again it’s time to crown Wicked Word Wednesday Winner.
Maybe it was the holiday season, or year-end burnout, or something like that, but not many people participated in this last challenge. Ah well. Carrying on . . .
Just to remind you: the last Wicked Word was
bacchanalia | bac·cha·na·lia [\ ba-kə-ˈnāl-yə]
noun
plural capitalized: a Roman festival of Bacchus celebrated with dancing, song, and revelry
drunken revelry
excessive indulgence in something especially to satisfy an inordinate appetite or craving
And now, the winners!
In Second Place . . . Suze
Anarchic romps held after dark, the quest for mania proceeds unfettered beneath the stars. A forest clearing, flickering flames, Bacchic worshippers dancing, leaping, guzzling wine from leather gourds. Now blind intoxication, we turn on the sacrificial, tear limb from limb and devour
In First Place . . . Georgie Moon
Girls stumbling on too-high heels.
Boys play-fighting, jumping into fountains.
Drunken kisses, knives with near misses.
Beer cans rolling, stomachs emptying.
Sirens nearing, handcuffs rattling.
Just another bacchanalian Christmas Eve in paradise.
Thank goodness I’m in bed by ten o’clock……
Congratulations winners, and don’t forget your nifty badges!
Come back next Wednesday for another Wicked Word
I want to start doing this again… I forget, do you host it weekly or less frequently?

I’m with Georgie. I’m in bed by ten o’clock, too. I do stay up for July 4th fireworks because all I have to do is look out my window. No high heels required.
