Saturday Morning Coffee

Thanks for stopping by! However did you manage in all this ice and snow? Well, that’s beside the point. The coffee’s nice and hot and I’m ready to chat.

Coffee’s kept me warm the last few days. Okay, warm-ish. That, plus a heating pad, plus three layers of clothes and two blankets. And a cat.

No, the heating didn’t go out. In fact, the thermostat’s set a few degrees higher than normal. The problem is that the outside temperature is so cold (compared to normal) that it’s seeped inside and won’t let go.

Krystal, meanwhile, is in shorts and a tank top commenting on how she’s still burning up. Seriously, the only time I can recall her being even a little bit cold was when we visited my folks in Pennsylvania and the temperature dropped to 5 below while we were watching a production of “Music Man”.

Anyway, I don’t want to bore you with things you already know.

5+ inches of snow closed school for two days.

I’m still having internet issues.

I wrote a Twitter bot to tweet Dante.

I’ve made progress on my Goodread’s challenge.

I discovered my name in the acknowledgements section of this book:

tempimageforsave-1

Yes, it’s really me!

And then, yesterday, Krystal got this bright idea:

I posted it to Twitter, and none other than Felicia Day liked it!

Felicia Day Snow Rex 1Felicia Day Snow Rex 2

I’ve also been playing my fair share of Assassin’s Creed: Origins.

And that’s pretty much what I’ve been up to.

Oh, sometime today I have to figure out a way to make it to my classroom. That’ll be fun.

What have you been doing?

  1. T-rex! Haha, you guys have so much fun together. After freezing in a cold October when my landlord kept the heat off, we’ve been melting here in over-cranked heat for weeks, so tank top and capri’s is my normal everyday wear. Cat as warming gear is a good idea. I saw you already wear it as a hat

  2. Unfortunately, I’ve little memory of what I’ve been doing which probably means I’ve been doing twenty things that needed doing in alternating bits and pieces. I need the rest of my family to go back to school. And we don’t have snow. Except maybe ice in the morning. And coffee didn’t help….or maybe that’s why I was doing twenty things in alternating bits and pieces…..

  3. Drinking coffee, playing our scrabble-like card game with friends in my apartment building, reading, heading out on foot to the grocery for exercise when the wind stops and the sun peeps out, and waiting for the temperature to get above 10 degrees. Also I spend time being thankful that the electricity and hot water keep working and staying mindful of homeless people and the big-hearted folk who help them find shelter.
