Bob’s Burgers Review: The Sound and the Curry

It’s Sunday Morning, and that can only mean one thing: last night, I made and ate a hamburger. Specifically, a burger featured on the hit series Bob’s BurgersBobsBurgers

The Sound and the Curry Burger [S1:E10 “Burger Wars”]

About the Episode

Mr. Fischoeder – Bob’s very rich and even more eccentric landlord – threatens to end Bob’s lease, having been made an attractive offer by Bob’s restaurant nemesis, Jimmy Pesto (who want’s to put his restaurant’s gift shop in Bob’s space). The family has two days to bring in enough customers to pay the rent of in full, or the lights will go off on the Belcher’s family business. Will a flyer campaign, live music, slow dancing, and potato voodoo save the day?

About the Burger

This burger wasn’t in the cookbook, so I made my own recipe. Playing off “the sound” I decided to make this a fish burger: ground tilapia bound with eggs and breadcrumbs, seasoned with mild curry powder, salt, and pepper. I topped the burger with caramelized shallots and minced garlic, Havarti cheese with dill, and an avocado spread.

The Response

Krystal liked the burger, but said it needed more salt and some lemon juice.

I felt the burgers could have been a bit smaller as they were quite large/dense as I forgot fish doesn’t cook down the way beef does.

Overall, we gave this burger

3 Stars

Come back next week, when we’ll try a new, as-yet-to-be-determined burger!
