Saturday Morning Coffee

Hello, friends! Are you still too stuffed from the Thanksgiving holiday to sit and chat over a cup of coffee?

It was a short school week thanks to Thanksgiving. Of course, at times those two weeks felt like forever. Nothing was wrong or bad, I think that’s just the nature of the school days just before break.

Our physics experiments didn’t exactly work. Oh well, that’s just the nature of science. Even good science doesn’t always go according to plan.

I had intended to finish up the pictures in Mr. Tom’s book, but that didn’t happen, either, as I tried to track down two packages en route to us that had been misdirected by the United States Postal Service. I had mixed success; I think I found them but they haven’t been delivered yet.

Thanksgiving Dinner itself was a low key affair as we went to Golden Corral. If I’m being honest, I don’t like buffets in general as I never feel like I eat my money’s worth. This goes double for Golden Corral, whose food never fails to upset my stomach. Then double that (literally) for what they charge for eating there on Thanksgiving.

But thanksgiving isn’t mainly about the food, or at least it shouldn’t be. Thanksgiving is about the people, and it was good to see and talk to family it seems I haven’t seen in months.

Krystal and I continued our tradition on going Black Friday shopping. We started out at Target, where we made the news, kind of. See if you can spot us.

Then it was on to Walmart and after that our traditional Black Friday meal at IHOP.

We drove back down to Jacksonville for Best Buy and Old Navy, and had intended to time store openings so as to stay out until morning. But Krystal wasn’t feeling well and asked to go home, and if she was feeling bad enough to go home on Black Friday I knew it was bad.

After a few hours sleep we went out shopping again, but Krystal started to feel worse and said she ought to go to Urgent Care. Turns out she has bronchitis.

I did a bit of shopping on my own, and though the adventure hadn’t gone exactly to plan, we still got most, of not all, of our Christmas shopping done, if not ordered.

Today I’m cleaning up around the house with an eye toward getting some presents wrapped, and of course they’ll be a burger later on tonight.

What have you been up to?
