Lyrics for the Table: Immoral/Immortal

Sharing songs written in-game by my OC rockerboy K2 for the campaign Cyberpunk Red: Never Fade Away.

K2, as generated by MidJourney

Album: DemoGraphic

DemoGraphic is the first album/ep released by K2 after their debut performance at Hammer. The album is an eclectic mix of musical styles, from instrumental jazz to an industrial-metal ballad on the same album. The title comes from the fact that most of the songs were on K2’s demo, combined with the fact that the lyrics are mostly autobiographical.

On another level, the title refers to the fact that, like K2 themself, music doesn’t fit into a box but is wild, free, and authentic to itself.

Track Six

They told us time would heal all wounds,
But it turns out that’s not true
When you’ve got scurvy
Degenerating degenerates
Peeling off the layers
of fashion and makeup and technology
to reveal the structure
underneath the aesthetics
is rotten to the source code
broken bones
corrupted files
both of us in denial

You used me like a piece of cyber
Wear? Where? Worn wherever
Worn out, worn down
Pulling out synthetic fibers
Holding close the liars
To themselves and those around them
Just a temporary fix
A false stitch
Looks good, feels good
Strike that, it feels rude
dragged on and on and on
by a leash and collared

But now I am free, can’t you see
I want nothing more than to be
Rid of you, but the memories
Won’t delete, still compete
For disk space in my drives
You’re still alive
You won’t die
No matter how hard I try
To drown you with it all
Take a breath and drink it down
They say it’s just like sleep to drown
But you’re so self-absorbed, absorbent
I’m looking for the cinder blocks.
