Reseasonings Greetings

This post title was based on a visual pun for which I forgot to take a picture. Ah well.

This weekend it was cooler, so I cranked up the stove, broke out the scrubbers and the oil, and went to work reseasoning my most-used cast iron pan. It had started to rust, which was my own fault for not oiling it properly the last couple times I used it, one of which was to boil water in order to scrape off some stubborn burnt fish. But I failed to take a โ€œbeforeโ€ picture and only remembered as I was removing the then-cool pan from the oven so I could bake a frozen pizza.

Itโ€™s not perfect but I think some of it will even out with use and itโ€™s definitely better than when I started.

Itโ€™s only been two or so weeks since I last posted here, and thatโ€™s sure an improvement over four weeks!

I received quite the compliment regarding one of my pies from the last post; I gave it to the person who invited Krystal and I to the stone soup get together.

It was Veterans Day earlier this month. I still prefer the connotations of calling it Armistice Day, but regardless of what itโ€™s called I still remembered Mr Tom.

My hair is now longer than it has ever been and folks at work are loving it. Iโ€™ve also been wearing my sweaters/cardigans and receiving many compliments!

We started our new D&D campaign, a legacy game based on the events of our big, three-year campaign. In this game my character is a fire genasi Oath of Glory paladin named Kai Copperspark.

The events of this campaign take place 200 years after our other campaign, and in that time our characters have become more legendary than they were. So, for example, rather than being โ€œGarrett, god of the forgeโ€ my Harengon is now known as โ€œThe Smithโ€.

Our DM made art of the icons and sigils of the new pantheon, of which our old PCs form the core:

Somewhere along the way I enjoyed a carrot cake cupcake and made some frozen gnocchi that still looked good and tasted okay enough to buy again.

I also put my flower hat on my stuffed narwhal and it brings me joy.

Krystal surprised me this week with this all-white Pusheen she found. Sheโ€™s certainly been a hit at the office, and Iโ€™m saying sheโ€™s snow-themed; what do you think?
