Bob’s Burgers Review: Dill Crazy After All These Gruyeres

It’s Sunday morning, and that can only mean one thing: last night, I made and ate a hamburger. Specifically, a burger featured on the hit series, Bob’s Burgers.

The “Dill Crazy After All These Gruyeres” Burger [S9:E9 “UFO No You Didn’t”]

It’s been some time since I did a Bob’s Burgers burger of the day. There was two weeks of Candlelight, then my birthday, and then the week between Christmas and New Years when everyone’s eating leftovers. But now we’re back to our regularly scheduled program.

About the Episode

When Tina and her new science partner create a device that allows them to communicate with aliens, Gene and Louise can hardly help but have a little fun with them.

Meanwhile, Bob buys coat racks without reading the terms and conditions.

About the Burger

Take about a pound on burger meat and spread it out thinly. Generously spread the following:

  • 1/2 cup fresh chopped dill
  • 1/4 finely chopped onion
  • minced garlic
  • pepper (I used Trader Joe’s African Smoke)
  • shredded Gruyere

Form the burgers into patties and season both sides with salt and pepper.

Grill the patties for six minutes per side, tenting with foil after flipping. With a minute or two remaining, add more Gruyere and a slice of Havarti cheese.

Serve with bacon.

The Response

This burger was delicious, with the seasonings pairing perfectly and the bacon adding some much-needed saltiness and texture.

Come back next week when we’ll try a new, as-yet-to-be-determined burger!
