Bob’s Burgers Review: Someone Raclette the Bed

It’s Sunday morning, and that can only mean one thing: last night, I made and ate a hamburger. Specifically, a burger featured on the hit series, Bob’s Burgers.

The Someone Raclette the Bed Burger [S9:E17 “What About Blob?”]

About the Episode

When Gene’s new musical sounds annoy everyone, he finds a friend in an unusual place.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Pesto is on vacation, and his assistant Trev strikes up an unlikely friendship with Bob and Linda. Will it survive Jimmy’s return?

About the Burger

I decided to make this burger with sautéed onion and tomatoes.

  • One red onion, thinly sliced
  • Three cloves of garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Sautéed over medium heat until soft (about ten minutes) then add

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp ground oregano
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Sautée for another ten minutes.

Cook patties (seasoned with s&p) as usual, about 6 minutes each side. Tent after flipping. Top with slices of Raclette cheese and allow to melt.

Toast hamburger buns and spread some hot mustard on top bun (I used Coleman’s)

Build the burger:

  • Bottom bun
  • Onions and tomatoes
  • Burger with cheese
  • Top bun with mustard

The Response

The burger smelled good and tasted just as good. Beware that you don’t use too much mustard; I originally spread it on both buns and it was overpowering.

4.5 Stars

Come back next week when we’ll try a new, as-yet-to-be-determined burger!
