It’s Sunday Monday morning, and that can only mean one thing: last night, I made and ate a hamburger. Specifically, a burger featured on the hit series, Bob’s Burgers.
The Gorgon-Baby-Gone Burger [S9:E17 “What About Blob?”]
About the Episode
When Gene’s new musical sounds annoy everyone, he finds a friend in an unusual place.
Meanwhile, Jimmy Pesto is on vacation, and his assistant Trev strikes up an unlikely friendship with Bob and Linda. Will it survive Jimmy’s return?
About the Burger
Krystal and I like some varieties of blue cheese, but after a bad experience with Roquefort we’ve been a tad wary of ones we haven’t tried.
So I did a bit of research for this Gorgonzola-based burger and found that it pairs well with fruits.
So I decided this would be a salt-and-pepper seasoned burger with Gorgonzola, drizzled with honey and using apple butter instead of mayo/ketchup/mustard.
Ingredients
- 1lb (ish) ground beef
- Gorgonzola cheese (I used a hard variety)
- Apple butter
- Honey
- Buns
Make the Burger
- Form meat into patties and season with salt and pepper
- Grill/cook patties as usual
- In the last minute of cooking, and some medium slices of Gorgonzola and allow the cheese to become somewhat “melty”
- Put the patties on the bottom bun and drizzle honey over the cheese
- Smear apple butter on the top bun
- Place top bun on burger
- Serve with fries
The Response
Krystal took one bite of this burger and, with her mouth full, said “I’m going to want another.”
When I asked her what she’d rate it she said “10”. I reminded her that our stars only go up to five, and she said “I know. It’s a ten.”
I took a bite and had to agree with her. This burger was simply amazing.
This makes this burger the best burger I’ve made yet.
5 Stars x 2
Come back next week when we’ll try a new, as-yet-to-be-determined burger!

I knew I would like it just reading your ingredients. Today I had a “Honey blue flatbread” for lunch on the outdoor patio at my favorite neighborhood restaurant. The home-made flatbread is perfect (to my way of tasting. On top of it are several bits of blue cheese and grilled onions in a honey glaze with dried cranberries sprinkled over everything. Yum.
