Coronavirus Quarantine: Day 33

It was over a month ago we were given the order to teach from home. Shortly thereafter, the entire state was told to stay at home.

Iโ€™ve given you some updates, but as the days run together Iโ€™ve slacked off on that.

Iโ€™ve made some more TikTok videos; one even passed 1.5k views! Krystal says I also have a good view : like ratio. (The videos may take a few seconds to load. Please be patient.)

I also rewatched Gravity Falls

and The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo

which really turned into a whole mood

this one took off!

Iโ€™ve also been reading:

  • Searching for Sappho by Philip Freeman
  • Dominion by Tom Holland
  • The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson
  • I am Pusheen the Cat by Claire Belton
  • A Fever of the Blood by Oscar de Muriel
  • The Supernatural Enhancements by Edgar Cantero
  • Mudlark by Lara Maiklem
  • Imperfect Union by Steve Inskeep (currently reading)

Speaking of books, I also ordered the last book in John Scalziโ€™s Collapsing Empire series, The Last Emperox. He was supposed to have a signing event near me, but that obviouslyโ€™s been cancelled.

However, my local indie bookstore, Quail Ridge Books, is still delivering. So, a signed copy will make its way to me eventually.

And then I tried to pre-order a copy of Marina Amaral & Dan Jonesโ€™ upcoming World Aflame, only to find that May is the UK release; the US is in August. And, given the state of things, itโ€™s on a restricted list so I canโ€™t order through UK sites.

I was saddened, but still looking forward to ordering in the summer.

This morning I woke up to a message from my friend Vanessa who lives in Europe. She saw my tweet and, through a variety of circumstances, came to order me a copy as a gift. I am so very blessed with my internet friends.

And that includes you reading this.

Iโ€™ve also been cooking. Iโ€™ve gotten decent at making a โ€œflatbread pizzaโ€. Iโ€™ve also made lamb stew, salmon and rice, chicken and rice, shepherds pie, chicken and peppers, fettuccini, and pancakes. Itโ€™s all been good.

I have to go out once a week to get my check. Thatโ€™s also when I do any grocery shopping I may need, but my goal is to do that as little as possible. When I do need to go out, I rock this mask, made for me by my cousin:

How have you been doing? Iโ€™m thinking of yโ€™all!
