Coronavirus Quarantine: Day 33

It was over a month ago we were given the order to teach from home. Shortly thereafter, the entire state was told to stay at home.

I’ve given you some updates, but as the days run together I’ve slacked off on that.

I’ve made some more TikTok videos; one even passed 1.5k views! Krystal says I also have a good view : like ratio. (The videos may take a few seconds to load. Please be patient.)

I also rewatched Gravity Falls

and The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo

which really turned into a whole mood

this one took off!

I’ve also been reading:

  • Searching for Sappho by Philip Freeman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Dominion by Tom Holland ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • The Splendid and the Vile by Erik Larson ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • I am Pusheen the Cat by Claire Belton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • A Fever of the Blood by Oscar de Muriel ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • The Supernatural Enhancements by Edgar Cantero ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Mudlark by Lara Maiklem ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
  • Imperfect Union by Steve Inskeep (currently reading)

Speaking of books, I also ordered the last book in John Scalzi’s Collapsing Empire series, The Last Emperox. He was supposed to have a signing event near me, but that obviously’s been cancelled.

However, my local indie bookstore, Quail Ridge Books, is still delivering. So, a signed copy will make its way to me eventually.

And then I tried to pre-order a copy of Marina Amaral & Dan Jones’ upcoming World Aflame, only to find that May is the UK release; the US is in August. And, given the state of things, it’s on a restricted list so I can’t order through UK sites.

I was saddened, but still looking forward to ordering in the summer.

This morning I woke up to a message from my friend Vanessa who lives in Europe. She saw my tweet and, through a variety of circumstances, came to order me a copy as a gift. I am so very blessed with my internet friends.

And that includes you reading this.

I’ve also been cooking. I’ve gotten decent at making a “flatbread pizza”. I’ve also made lamb stew, salmon and rice, chicken and rice, shepherds pie, chicken and peppers, fettuccini, and pancakes. It’s all been good.

I have to go out once a week to get my check. That’s also when I do any grocery shopping I may need, but my goal is to do that as little as possible. When I do need to go out, I rock this mask, made for me by my cousin:

How have you been doing? I’m thinking of y’all!
