Yesterday was the anniversary of D-Day; the first in over a decade I didn’t sit around Mr. Tom’s kitchen table and listen to him reminisce about the events of those days, particularly about a few of the men lost from his ship. So, I remembered for him.
I Remember
I remember (because)
You remembered (because)
You were there (because)
You were sent (because)
You joined (because)
You wanted to escape.
I remember (because)
You cannot remember (because)
You are gone (because)
That’s how life goes (but)
No one is forgotten (as long as)
They are remembered.
This is a loving tribute to Mr. Tom.
