Sunday Evening Coffee

Ok, so it might be a bit late in the day to be drinking coffee. So mine is the “dark blend” Coke-and-Coffee that I’m enjoying with some delicious homemade pizza.

It’s onion and pepperoni and it continues to be blessed.

I didn’t do a whole lot this week.

It was Thanksgiving here in the US, which means that we had a half day of work on Wednesday and then Thursday and Friday off, as well as the weekend.

I would like to take a moment to recognize the Indigenous People on whose land I have (at times) lived during the past 35 years:

On the day-of, we went with some of Krystal’s family to a buffet. We didn’t have reservations and so ended up waiting about 40 minutes for a table, and even though I don’t like buffets on principal, it was much better/easier than the hours spent cooking and cleaning up.

For the record, I don’t like buffets because I find the food always overpriced, usually mediocre, and I have never felt I eat/get my money’s worth.

With our usual stores closed for early Black Friday shopping due to covid, we instead went back to Krystal’s parents and helped them decorate for Christmas.

I helped by hanging some garland and finding a good music station on Pandora.

Friday I ran a little and watched A Christmas Story. I will watch it every day between now and Christmas.

I’ll also be playing Yule log videos, burning incense in my smoking huts, and listening to punk/emo Christmas music while trying to avoid “All I Want for Christmas is You”, “Christmas Shoes”, and “Last Christmas”.

I am finding that most of the things I enjoy most about this time of year are associated with Yule. Hmm.

Friday night Krystal and I went shopping for a bit and found some Christmas presents, and picked up some new Tupperware (as is our custom).

Saturday I went grocery shopping and did some online shopping to support a few of my artist friends on Small Business Saturday.

Today I’ve been cleaning, planning meals, and enjoying the last day off before returning to work.

But the next few weeks will be interspersed with various holiday gatherings, and so everything will be okay.

I’m also looking forward to starting work on my next tattoo! Assuming all goes according to plan, that is.

How have you been?
